What is life? How did it begin? Why? The answers lie within the matrix of the Scroll. Pulled from the core of Enlightenment, the first planet of the Universe, nothing is known of the Scroll's origin, except that it is believed to be The Source of all things.
It resembles a large seedpod. When opened, it contains unreadable texts that move and slither as if they were alive and thinking. They are unsolvable riddles to most, but to the pure of heart, the passages can illuminate the mind and shine light on the path to self-knowledge.
For time eternal, mortal beings that originated on Enlightenment nurtured the Scroll and disseminated the knowledge therein for the purposes of peace and understanding. They called themselves the Soulan.
However, even the Soulan cannot read the entire contents of the Scroll. The mortal mind is not a suitable container for such information. Rather, the Soulan masters use the Scroll to expand their innate mental and physical boundaries in an attempt to better themselves and their surroundings. The gifts bestowed by the knowledge leads to heightened sensory awareness and the ability to control certain elements of the physical universe.
