Imagine being ripped from your family, trained to murder your own people, and forced to do battle against them for someone else's personal amusement. This was the fate of Blaze as a child, kidnapped by the evil General Klann, told lies about the Soulan, and controlled like an unwitting puppet. Blaze's control over fire and heat energy made him a perfect protege for Klann, who molded him with deceitful lessons about the Soulan who had raised him.
Blaze faced off against the Soulan in battle, and a Soulan master recognized the young warrior and desperately fought to save him. In the end, Blaze struck him down, but before the master passed, he told Blaze the truth about his origins.
Haunted by what he had heard and done, Blaze would eventually break free of Klann's manipulative control and re-join his Soulan brothers. Now a student of the truth, Blaze anxiously awaits the opportunity to face his old teacher. However, the torment of his youth has placed him in a constant battle for control of his emotions. His inner rage can sometimes overwhelm reason and force logic to become subservient to misdirected passion.
