Tucker Buckholm always wanted to be a superhero. His only childhood memory is that of the infamous Spoon from the vigilante team, The Retributors, who saved him from a sadistic insane dentist.
Young Tucker was eternally grateful. When he grew up, he chose to emulate The Spoon by weilding a wooden fork to cut out the evil hearts of his enemies.
While living at a church shelter, Tucker stumbled upon the evil Satan-Nun, disguised as a sweet, innocent old woman. She was using the church and its homeless occupants to test her new drug formula. The Fork took it upon himself to take her out. In the midst of the battle, the Satan-Nun transformed back into her innocent guise just in time for the press to watch The Fork rip out her still-beating heart.
He was unjustly arrested and send to a maximum security psychiatric hospital where he met his fellow Repulsives.
